Jay Kokusolar Vyas is a pioneer in India’s solar movement — blending financial intelligence, grassroots engagement, and public policy to make solar energy accessible to those who need it most. With over two decades of experience at the intersection of energy, economics, and equity, Jay has dedicated his work to transforming how individuals and communities adopt clean power — not through expensive installations or complex technologies, but through smart, structured financial solutions.
A Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant by training, Jay has redefined solar as a financial opportunity, not merely a technical product. His mission is rooted in a simple, powerful idea: solar should work for you — even if you don’t own a rooftop.
Through his company, Koku Solar, Jay leads Maharashtra’s housing societies, flat owners, and common area consumers into the age of Virtual Net Metering (VNM) — enabling them to switch to solar without capital, without confusion, and without construction. His work has been recognized by Time Magazine, NPR, and ICMAI, and featured across platforms focused on ESG strategy, policy reform, and social impact.
Jay has authored two field-focused handbooks:
Solar Rooftop for Residential Societies, India’s first practical guide for housing committees
Sunny Makes Money, a story-based primer on energy, savings, and self-reliance
As a mentor, Jay trains professionals in building solar careers without installing panels — empowering them through consulting, content, finances, structuring, and policy understanding. His workshops and training programs have influenced hundreds across India’s urban and institutional landscape.
